Speed management resources

We are taking a new approach to speed management in New Zealand. Our aim is to have a consistent and evidenced-based approach that is supported by community engagement and better conversations on road risk. We have developed resources and tools to support this new process, and to support RCAs. New materials will be added as they are developed.

A national framework that helps RCAs make informed, accurate and consistent speed management decisions in their communities:

Better Conversations on Road Risk

This programme aims to build understanding of road risk resulting in safer choices by communities and individuals. Its approach is based on evidence and focused on quality engagement with stakeholders, media and communities. We work closely with Road Controlling Authorities to develop resources that help them engage with their communities. We also develop innovative initiatives to build awareness of road risk:
